Police Officer Supports Constitution Tom Wassa is dedicated and committed to the Constitution of the United States. He has scheduled three classes at the Vassar Library, 520 W Huron from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. The first class on Jan. 7, 2010, will explain what the Constitution is and the historical background that drove the founding fathers to write it. The second class on Jan. 21, 2009, explains the powers of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches. The final class on Feb. 4, 2019, will cover Constitutional Amendments and the Bill of Rights. Tom has taught Adult Education and these classes are appropriate for home schooled high school and junior high students or for public school students that need extra credit. If you are unable to attend all three classes, each class includes a complete lesson, but covers only a specific section. Individuals that attend all three classes will be awarded a certificate of completion. (Or, Individuals will receive a certificate of completion after each class.) Tom has been involved in politics, whether on the local, state, or federal level his entire working career. He has more than 25 years of experience as a police officer working to uphold the Constitution. Tom has owned and operated several businesses, served as a Trustee on the Village of Fairgrove’s Counsel, and currently serves as a board member at a nonprofit social services agency. He created the Constitution Coalition, an organization which promotes and educates all ages about the history, meaning, and importance of this legal document. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Organizational Development and is studying toward his Master’s Degree in Public Administration through Eastern Michigan University. The Western Thumb Tea Party Group is non-partisan and members are committed to educating family, friends and neighbors. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and information will be available on health care, cap and trade, and other current events. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and will conclude with a question and answer period.
